Canoe trip

Last weekend Jo, I, Brett and Bek went canoeing up the Noosa River. It was supposed to be 4 hour of paddling to our campsite but there was crazy wind against us so it took us 7 hours to get there. By the time we reached the campsite, it was almost dark and my arms were aching so badly that I almost couldn't move them. The trip was still fun and funny though, we had a lot of laughs along the way. To make up for the hard work, we had a big piece of steak each for dinner, with salad and garlic bread. Breakfast was very big as well as we had to prepare ourselves to the return journey. We had fried eggs, bacon, toast and fruits. The way back was not as hard because the wind was blowing in our favour so we actually get back much faster than expected. I didn't take that many photos because there was a sad incident with my camera, it got drown.... Anyway, here are some shots from our canoe adventure.

Start from Elanda Point in Lake Cootharaba.

Brett an Bek fighting against the wind.

The water was too shallow to paddle so we(they) had to walk the canoes.

Finally we reached the calmer water of Upper Noosa River.

It was getting dark but we were still paddling.

Fuelling for the big day ahead.

End of the trip. Phew.... That was a big one.

Hi Am,
Liked your story on Noosa River Canoe, but next time, do me a favour, contact Old Man Ruffo, for a few pre trip tips. I have done many paddles up there, love the place, my favourite campsite is Number One, but i have been up as far as Number Fifteen. Good photos of your trip too ! Hope you and Joe are going well,
Best Wishes,
Ken ( Old man Ruffo )
