Herzlich Wilkommen Bebb und Peter =)

Jo's parents, Bebb and Peter arrived from Germany last Thursday. So we have been busy showing them the wonderful city of Brisbane. The first two days were spent around UQ and our flat to let our visitors slowly adjust to the temperature and Australian ways of how things run. Then, we tackled a city tour on Saturday. We took a City Cat to Southbank and walk around for a while. It was a warm sunny day so there were a lot of people on the beach and in the water.

For lunch, we took the ferry across to North Quay and walk pass the Queen Street Mall towards our favourite Chinese food court. To finish off the delicious meal, we had the best ice-cream (and also the cheapest) in Brisbane at Hungry Jack. After that we strolled around looking at things in souvenir shops. Bebb got a really good bargain on a nice leather hat and that concluded our city tour for the day. At dinner, Jo performed his cooking magic and presented us with the most wonderful lamb cutlets with garlic sauce ever. The delicious meal was accompanied by the excellent view of our private riverside restaurant (our balcony) which has never failed to impress any of our guests. =D

On Sunday we did a walk up My Ngungun summit (253 m) in Glass House Mountain National Park 70 km north of Brisbane. After enjoying the view of the Glass House Mountains and the landscape around we head to the beach in Caloundra. We sat by the beach and had some fruits which we bought from the local store on the way to the mountain. Then Peter and Jo went swimming in the sea while Bebb strolled on the white sand beach and Am had a little nap in the shady spot. Hehehe. =P

On the way back to Brisbane we dropped by Wildhorse lookout and was there just as the sun was setting. While driving to the lookout carpark Bebb spotted a Kangaroo with a very beautiful colour. So our visitors got to see their first wildAussie Kangaroo on just their third day in the country! =) The scenery of the Glass House Mountains and the sunset were also very beautiful. To top it off we had tasty fish and chips at the Hawken Village for dinner and that really made our fantastic day complete without a flaw! =D

Am, that sounded like a wonderful few days. I am severely jealous of the weather! I am missing Australia a bit too. Have lots of fun.
